With Thanksgiving already behind us, it’s time to look at what the holidays really mean for restaurants.
We tend to think of the holidays as a time for home and family—in fact, some years, restaurants see huge declines in sales throughout November, December, and January! While this might be true, that doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities for restaurants to gain new customers, drive sales, and keep the momentum of the restaurant of the year.
As you can see from this infographic, restaurant sales don’t stop the minute the calendar flips to November! As well, almost 38 million consumers stopped at restaurants on Black Friday in 2015 alone. That’s a huge number!
Alongside holiday promotional menu items, gift card incentives, and more, you can continue to drive traffic to your restaurant via social media. Here are a few ideas:
- Advertise gift card/certificate purchases on social media as a great gift idea for families.
- Allow pre-orders on delivery or take-out on holidays like New Year’s Eve & Day, as well as around Christmas.
- Introduce promotional holiday menu items on special—such as a hot toddy or peppermint mocha.
