3 Apps to Help Your Restaurant

Posted on August 31, 2016 by Michelle Locke

We love helping restaurants use new technology in their restaurants. From “pin and chip” card readers to new POS systems, we firmly believe that when restaurants embrace technology, it’s a total win.

We do have some favorite apps for restaurants. These are apps that can be used on your smartphone as a manager or owner. Because we love restaurants, we picked 3 FREE apps that you can use to improve your restaurant in a variety of ways.

1. Canva

Canva is an online, graphic design website. Seriously. It’s online and it’s free, and you can do amazing things with it. The best part is that they have a free app for iPhones that you can use to take photos, add elements and text, and then upload to Facebook or Instagram. It’s amazing! It’s the easiest way to create great graphics. Learn more here.

2. Slack

Do you have trouble with communication at your restaurant? We love Slack because it can be used on your desktop computer and your phone. It’s free for a basic account (but if you want more features, it’s pretty affordable to upgrade). We love Slack because you can start private messages with specific employees and create channels for specific updates—like pre-shift meeting information, specials, and policies & procedures. Whenever you need to send a message, your managers and employees will be alerted on their phones. So simple. Learn more here.

3. NoWait

This is a restaurant-specific app that we absolutely love. It eliminates the need for expensive pager systems and can help your host staff organize the wait list and plan seating, sending updates to customers via text message. A free account allows up to 200 waitlist parties per month and larger accounts are incredibly affordable. It’s simple to use and incredibly efficient. Learn more here.
